WHY PONO
You probably started your inn to become a little freer. And yet, somewhere along the way — the more bookings you filled, the busier your mind got. The more you chased revenue, the further you drifted from what mattered most. Time with family, your own life — quietly pushed to "later." Some nights, you stop and notice it. We did too. pono wants to flip that order back around. First a life, and work within it. Set aside time with your family before anything else. Money is a means to a richer life — not the goal itself. So what we chase isn't maximum revenue. It's a richness that fits you — just enough. Not occupancy rates, but the person you want to be. Even so, we never let go of hospitality, or our care for the inn. An owner who gets to be fully themselves, and a guest who can truly rest — these two don't contradict each other. We believe in that harmony.
APPROACH
Maybe this sounds too good to be true. That's why we run inns ourselves. Two of them, in Okinawa. Not to grow the number — but to go deep, within arm's reach. Facing guests every day. Wrestling with pricing. Cleaning and managing with our own hands, sometimes with help from people in the community, carefully. Listening to each guest, one at a time. Only what we've proven on the ground becomes our products and our consulting. Not tools dreamed up at a desk, but things we built because we needed them ourselves, out where the work happens.

The inns pono runs are where we put this belief to the test — and where it proves out. Traveling with our own family, we noticed something: where you stay deepens the memory of the trip, and draws a family a little closer. We want to create more places like that.
